On Location Lighting!

So after a fun 2 hours of wandering the streets of Philadelphia with my awesome classmates I came up with these pretty sweet street shots.  It was my first time using a Range Finder and I have to say I kind of love it.  Although I am not a huge fan of street/fashion photography playing with this light equipment was definitely fun enjoy!

Sooooooo Busy!

So between working on my final for my studio class and converting a lot of my photos into non-silver prints I have been to busy to update this thing.  I apologize!  In an attempt to escape my nudies which seem to consume my life these days, I have been playing with light and string.  Oh and mason jars.  They're just a fun little thing I did for David's class so I hope you enjoy them!  And look forward to lots of non-silver scans and awesome beautiful naked women hanging upside down!

Somehow managed a decent photo

Despite everything else going down-hill today I somehow managed to get a good photo out of the shoot I had yesterday. I based my idea off of a Man Ray photograph. I wanted to use the complete blackness to abstract the body even more. I shot this with two photopro grid spots and an octobox with my Nikon D5000. Enjoy!

Studio Re-edit

So a few weeks ago we had an assignment to create a portrait with dramatic lighting. I created one that received a mass amount of criticism so when we were assigned a project to re-edit one of our previous projects I decided to challenge myself with this photo. I am pretty happy about the outcome. Enjoy!

projection experiments

So for an assignment for David Graham's class we had a project titled "Altered Subject". Which can basically be interpreted as doing something in the shooting process to make the subject appear different or altered in some way. I have always wanted to experiment with projected images on a nude and finally had my opportunity. I really enjoy these images and hope you will too!

Re-creating

My attempt at re-creating this photo for Studio Class. I ended up using two lights with grid spots as well as an octo-box soft box. It took forever but I'm content with the outcome.

Finally New Work

SO! I've had a hell of a semester so far. I love my classes but everything technically has been going wrong. My computer's logic board crashed last week so I lost some of my recent images I was going to post up here. This first post is my studio portraits for this week. We were supposed to shoot in a new way to challenge ourselves. I wanted to play with a soft but dramatic light. I used a grid spot and a soft box on with a photo pro light set. Enjoy!

Nudies?

So I seem to still be on this whole glow stick kick. For this weeks assignment we were allowed to shoot whatever we wanted or re-do a project. I wanted to re-do my painting with light and of course I wanted to play more with glow sticks. I also wanted to experiment with the human figure. I originally intended on just doing the male nude but after a few photos I decided I wanted to compare it with the female figure. And the only female I had was myself....good times. Hahah. This is my first time shooting myself completely nude and I kind of liked it. The result not the being nude part. Anywho, these photos are all 30 second exposures on my Nikon D5000 with a Aperture of F16. Enjoy!! And I would love a little feedback if you have some! The second image is actually two images I combined together in Photoshop then edited further in Lightroom 3.

Unexpected Light!

So this is an assignment that I intended on working out one way but it totally surprised me. I had never done long exposure or night photography before so I really wanted to mess around with night street photography. Alas, I was stuck on my couch all day Sunday due to sickness so I was forced to do my shoot at home. I had these glow sticks my mom got me for Halloween and have been wanting to mess around with them for a while. Surprisingly, I am in love with this project and might actually extend it. I have a new found love for long exposures and glow sticks!

Getting a Little Behind

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated. This semester is proving to be insanely busy and of course full of sickness for me. I've had a few projects for David Graham's class that I've actually liked a bit. This first one is "Evidence of my Existence"
